EFFECTIVE PUBLIC NOTIFICATION

One of the requirements of the TEFAP program is that agencies provide public notification that TEFAP food is available at their distributions. This should be a combination of the ‘TEFAP available here’ sign, posted hours on the front door, and on the internet.
If an agency advertises their food pantry or the TEFAP program on their website or Facebook page, please include the following:
1) TEFAP is available at our pantry.
2) Clients can receive TEFAP on this day at this time.
3) No ID or other documentation is required to receive TEFAP.
Number 3 is especially important if your pantry does require ID or any other documentation for clients to receive non-TEFAP food or services.
