Gifts Outside the Box- Party Time!

It’s that time of year…the air is cooler, the leaves are turning, and you’re planning a party. It could be for Halloween, the holidays, or even your birthday; any occasion is a good excuse to enjoy family and friends.

Ready to take your party to the next level? We’re not talking about adding a new secret ingredient to your special punch, we’re talking about raising funds for MANNA. A few months ago, a group of ten Asheville friends were turning 50. Instead of sulking at home or touching up their gray hair, they decided to throw a party and ask all their friends to contribute to MANNA.

The process was simple. The point person, Chris Lenderman, contacted MANNA for materials and a cash box. Hundreds of folks partied the night away at Pack’s Tavern and contributed a suggested donation. The friends ended up raising $2,500 to help end hunger, and delivered the funds to MANNA later that week. One party provided food for 7,500 meals- wow!
