In December, MANNA FoodBank received a grant from one of our long-standing supporters in the business community, Wells Fargo. The gift of $10,000 for general operating support will help cover costs in our operations and programs. Thank you, Wells Fargo!
Also in December, MANNA was awarded $15,000 through a Feeding America national grant, thanks to Morgan Stanley. The purpose of the grant is to help MANNA implement new strategies for fresh produce distribution. One of these innovations is a “produce pod” refrigerated shipping container that can be stationed at a partner agency.
We closed out a $50,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation State Giving Program of North Carolina. This grant program supports initiatives for children’s health and other high priority needs in the community. The grant to MANNA was designated to food purchase for both MANNA Packs for Kids and Summer Packs in 2016. The amount awarded represents 22% of the total annual cost to MANNA for food purchase for the two programs. This was a huge help during a tight budget year. Thank you, Walmart Foundation!
