The Importance of SNAP for WNC Seniors
Did you know seniors in western North Carolina currently struggle everyday to afford groceries? Rising food and housing costs, and living on a fixed income make this issue even more prevalent during the holiday season.
SNAP benefits can support access to healthy food and allow seniors to save money for other expenses, including medication and healthcare…but many WNC seniors who are eligible for this basic-needs support are not currently utilizing it.
You’re invited to join MANNA FoodBank, Council on Aging of Buncombe County, and AARP for an important update and discussion on how SNAP supports seniors’ health and wellbeing, and makes it easier to make ends meet on a fixed household income.
