MANNA Ambassador Program

MANNA’s mission statement is to educate, involve and unite people in the work of ending hunger. As an organization, we get numerous speaking or tabling requests at community events, and unfortunately, we just don’t have enough staff to accept every invitation.

The new volunteer ambassador program has been created as a solution to that challenge. Ambassador volunteers represent MANNA in the community at functions benefitting the FoodBank, such as fundraisers, food drives, and hunger awareness gatherings.

Knowledge of MANNA FoodBank and passion for its mission is integral to this volunteer position, and ambassadors must be comfortable with public speaking and interacting one-on-one with people who want to learn more about what we do.

Sharon Van Sickle volunteers in the warehouse on Thursday afternoons, and she’s also a new MANNA ambassador. “I thought I was passionate about helping people facing hunger, but now, after getting involved with MANNA, I know I am.” She is enthusiastic about her new role at MANNA and what it means in the community. “People are attracted to MANNA; the public is interested in what we do. I like being a part of that,” says Sharon.
